The Nissan Maxima, Nissan's best-selling passenger car, will be discontinued at the end of the 2022 model year. It was initially introduced in 2003 and is still one of the top-selling sedans in Northern America. The Maxima had some success throughout its long life; however, Nissan discontinued it due to plummeting sales since 2017.
After 42 years of success in producing Maxima, Nissan halted their production in 2023. However, the Maxima is most likely to return some years later. Nissan is focusing on producing an electric version of the Maxima. Electric vehicles are here to stay.
A total of one million Nissan models sold for the 2018 model year will come equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking, improving in-car safety across the lineup. Nissan shoppers can expect many of the brand’s most popular models to feature the safety technology.
