Nissan vehicles have been sold in America since 1959, when the automaker introduced its Datsun line at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Although it took some time for the Japanese automaker to enter the American market, many people are glad it did. Nissan is renowned for its clever, sporty design, reliability, and, most importantly, safety. The brand is also known for its fair pricing.

How It Started, Where It's Going

Nissan's origins date back to 1911 when Masujiro Hashimoto founded Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works. Just three years later, the DAT car was introduced. The name Nissan Co. Ltd. first appeared in 1934 after several name changes. Following this pivotal moment, the Datsun Model 14 was the first model released.

Nissan's post-war history in the 1940s was marked by recovery. The Nissan truck Model 2124 was introduced in 1947, followed by the Datsun Model DB passenger car in 1948. However, it is Nissan's history in America that has had the most significant impact on our customers. The Datsun 1200 coupes were extremely popular in America and continue to enjoy an excellent reputation among those who owned them.

In the last decade, Nissan has brought Americans fantastic models such as the Nissan Pathfinder (SUV), Nissan Frontier (truck), and the GT-R (sports car). The GT-R, a direct descendant of the popular Nissan Skyline, has its own rich history. Known for its passion for motorsports, Nissan creates vehicles fit for a Fast and Furious movie. With over 100 years of innovation, the brand continues to push boundaries. Their first electric vehicle, the TAMA, debuted in 1947. Today, Nissan is more focused on electric vehicles than ever before, driven by increasing public demand. Whatever Nissan aims for in the next 100 years, we are confident they will achieve their goals and continue to delight drivers worldwide.
