What's New for the 2018 Nissan Versa?

The Nissan Versa is a Nissan subcompact sedan and is one of the least expensive cars on the market today. Combining its low price point with a nice array of features aimed at the modern driver, the Versa offers an excellent value for both first-time buyers and those looking for an agile city car. The 2018 Nissan Versa follows up last year's interior redesign with a reshuffling of its trim lines and features. The high-end Versa SL model is no longer available, simplifying the lineup down to three levels. All models gain a few new standard convenience features as well, including adjustable head restraints for the front seats, intermittent windshield wipers and map lights. The Special Edition of the Nissan Versa from last year also makes a return in the 2018 Nissan Versa as an optional package for the SV model, which now makes it the top-end option in the range.

Can You Tell Me About The Trim Levels On The 2018 Nissan Versa?

After this year's readjustments, the 2018 Nissan Versa comes in three trim levels: the value S model, the mid-range S Plus and the high-end SV. The latter can also be fitted out with the Special Edition package, which makes for a de facto fourth trim level.

  • The Nissan Versa S stands out thanks to its very low entry-level price. It is also the only model available with a five-speed automatic transmission. Nonetheless, it is still equipped with some nice conveniences such as Bluetooth and a four-speaker audio system.
  •
  • The S Plus is the model to go for if you prefer higher mileage or an automatic transmission. It replaces the manual transmission of the S with a fuel-efficient continuously variable automatic. This model also comes with cruise control and a few nice extra trim pieces.
  •
  • The SV is the high-end version of the 2018 Versa. It has a nicer cloth interior than the other models and has standard power locks, windows and keyless entry.
  •
  • The SV Special Edition adds a five-inch LCD screen to the Versa, which is used to control the added satellite radio and rear view camera.

Do You Want To Connect To The Road?

The 2018 Nissan Versa Note will help connect you to the road with the Nissan Versa Note electric power steering that provides a direct response for more precise handling. This creates and infinitely enjoyable connection between you, the vehicle, and the road.

What is The Horsepower On The 2018 Nissan Versa?

2018 Nissan Versa FrontThe small frame of the Versa gives it an energetic driving feel and it is very maneuverable due to its subcompact size. It derives its power from a four-cylinder engine making 109 horsepower connected to either a manual or a continuously-variable transmission. The manual makes it easy to get the most power out of the small engine and maximize the car's agility, but more efficiency-minded drivers will like the gas mileage numbers that the CVT produces. With up to 31 miles per gallon in the city and 39 mpg on the highway, the Versa is friendly to both the environment and your wallet.

Can You Tell Me About The Safety On The 2018 Nissan Versa?

2018 Nissan Versa RearFor a small car, the 2018 Nissan Versa delivers a pretty good safety report card. Bluetooth is a standard feature on all models, giving drivers a safe option to make and receive calls while on the go, and a rear view camera is available as an option for added safety when backing up. The Versa does fairly well when it comes to crash testing as well. It falls just short of the top score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a four out of five, and earns the highest score on all but one of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's tough crash tests. This speaks well for the vehicle's ability to both avoid and withstand impacts, making it an excellent choice for both new and experienced drivers alike.
