A new 2016 Environment Protection Agency report names Nissan Group as the most fuel efficient full-line automaker in the United States. The company boasted a 28.3 adjusted combined mpg rating for its entire fleet, which was the highest among all full-line automakers, putting them in the top spot.

The EPA’s “CO2 and Fuel Economy Trends” report, which is the authoritative reference on new light-duty, fuel economy, powertrain technology and vehicle carbon dioxide emission trends, announced Nissan’s victory. A 1.3 combined adjusted mpg improvement led to the company’s top-of-the-line rating this year, which was based on 2015 Nissan and Infiniti cars, trucks, and SUVs. They also moved up to the third spot on the list overall, an added bonus.

"As consumers demand more fuel efficient options, Nissan continues to incorporate engineering advancements such as reduced powertrain friction, improved aerodynamics and the use of efficient Xtronic transmissions in each new model," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America. "Evolving industry regulations continue to challenge us to provide the safest, most efficient products to our customers, and this distinction reaffirms the exemplary effort our engineers and designers have taken to ensure continuous vehicle improvements and owner satisfaction."

With outstanding new and redeisgned models like the 2016 Titan and 2016 Maxima included as a part of next year’s report, Nissan expects to see further improvements. Come take a look at each of these models at Crown Nissan to receive information about their fuel economy benefits.
