The EV's exterior design is not only attractive, it also improves the car's aerodynamics, which lends a hand in boosting its driving range. If you'd like to learn more about these features and others offered on the model, check out our 2018 Nissan LEAF review below.

What's New on the 2018 Nissan LEAF?

Aside from the exterior, the LEAF's cabin has also been redesigned this year. The interior features vibrant blue stitching, a gliding wing form instrument panel, an upgraded 7-inch display screen, easy access buttons on the center display, dual cup holders and a storage area at the front of the console. The infotainment system also offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which can be used to access select smartphone features while in the vehicle.

Nissan Intelligent Driving is one of the biggest additions to the vehicle - it brings along a number of performance enhancements and safety features which you can learn about in our safety section.

Increased Driving Range & New e-Powertrain

The introduction of the e-powertrain on the 2018 Nissan LEAF in Decatur has led to an increase in torque, power output and energy efficiency. Generating 147 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque, the engine works alongside the lithium-ion battery pack to boost the driving range, which now sits at an estimated 150 miles.

Additionally, the EV's new power system helps offer more confidence when driving on the highway, while Intelligent Ride Control improves ride quality, steering control and limits vibration.

Intelligent Mobility Technology

Standard on all models, a new e-Pedal allows drivers to accelerate, decelerate and stop the LEAF by using just the accelerator pedal. Designed to help reduce fatigue during traffic jams, it makes driving more fun. A new ProPilot Assist system also works to make highway driving easier by automatically controlling the distance to the car in front and assisting in keeping the LEAF centered. It can also automatically apply the brakes if the car in front comes to a stop.

On top of these technologies, the LEAF is offered with Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Rearview Mirror and Rear Door Alert, which have been highlighted in several 2018 Nissan LEAF reviews.
