2017 Nissan Pathfinder Overview

The seven-passenger 2017 Nissan Pathfinder in Decatur is an attractive crossover SUV. For the new model year, it comes with a new frontend and rear bumper design, boomerang headlights, a new Nissan V-Motion grille design, a revised hood and updated taillights. Additionally, the model gains a couple fresh paint colors, new interior materials and a new V6 engine that offers an increase in horsepower and torque compared to last year's engine. Towing capacity has also been boosted to 6,000 pounds, benefiting frequent haulers.

Four Models, Plenty of Features

S, SV, SL and Platinum are the only four trims available on the Pathfinder. Complete with a range of cutting-edge components, including HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a new 8-inch touchscreen, keyless entry/ignition, tri-zone automatic climate control and a rearview camera, each model delivers a first-class driving experience for passengers and driver.

For 2017, all trims can be draped in two new paint colors: Caspian Blue and Sandstone. S and SV models also receive new cloth seat materials and are now available with a Motion-Activated liftgate, which was previously only offered on SL and Platinum. On top of these add-ons, an Advanced Drive-Assist Display is featured on the latest 2017 Nissan Pathfinder in Decatur.

Performance

Buyers will be pleased with the Pathfinder's newest powertrain offering. This year's model comes equipped with a 3.5L V6, producing 284 horsepower and 259 lb.-ft. of torque, which is quite the increase compared to the previous engine. The powerplant comes with a Direct Injection Gasoline system and is paired with a third-generation Xtronic transmission that backs its offerings.

Front-wheel drive models deliver an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined, 20 city and 27 highway, while all-wheel drive variants produce 22 mpg combined, 19 city and 26 highway.

Safety Equipment

A number of driver-assist technologies, including Around View Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Warning, are offered on the Pathfinder. Standard on the SUV are antilock brakes, stability and traction control, airbags and a rearview camera, which have each been noted in many 2017 Nissan Pathfinder reviews.
