Nissan Versa Review for 2015 Model Year

A budget-friendly small sedan with tons of charm and high-end tech features, the Nissan Versa and its hatchbatch sister, the Versa Note, are terrific options for those who want an affordable auto with the power and style of a much more expensive car.

First looking at the sedan, shoppers wanting a 2015 Nissan Versa in Decatur will have their choice between four trim levels: S, S Plus, SV and SL. The base S version offers cloth upholstery, 15-inch steel wheels, a trip computer, a two speaker sound system, audio controls on the steering wheel, and Bluetooth connectivity. The next level S Plus trim adds a continuously variable transmission, cruise control, two rear speakers and a rear spoiler.

Our recommendation is to go with either the SV or the SL trim, depending on your budget. The SV trim offers keyless entry, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, power accessories, upgraded upholstery, map lights and a USB/iPod interface. Finally, the top tier SL trim adds 16-inch alloy wheels, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, keyless ignition/entry, satellite radio, smartphone integration apps, foglights, a 5-inch display screen and Nissan's Easy-Fill tire alert system. Add the Technology package on the SL and get impressive features such as voice recognition, a navigation system, a rearview camera and a 5.8-inch touchscreen.

The Versa Note hatchback comes with nearly identical trims and features with the exception of the recently added SR model (a favorite among several 2015 Nissan Versa Note reviews.) This model adds 16-inch alloy wheels, unique front and rear fascias, a dark headlight treatment, a rear spoiler, a sport steering wheel, suede upholstery, sport front seats and a unique grille.

Our 2015 Nissan Versa review really loved the safety features on both models, including antilock brakes, front seat side airbags, traction and stability control and side curtain airbags. The Versa sedan got great ratings from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety with a top rating of "Good" in various tests including side-impact and moderate overlap frontal-offset.

Both the 2015 Nissan Versa and the 2015 Nissan Versa Note are available in Decatur so come by our showroom for a test drive in this fun-to-drive compact.
