Think you can come up with a great cardboard float design that won’t capsize? Then sign up for the 4-H Floats competition, taking place on Saturday, May 30, 2015!

Participants must register by this Friday, May 8 to participate, so hurry and sign up if you want to join. This is a great event for parents to do with their kids and those involved in 4-H Clubs can enter the race for free!

Come up with a creative float design that’ll blow the competition out of the water and you could go home with a Race Winner, Best Design, Titanic or People’s Choice award. Also feel free to decorate your float if you want it to stand out from the crowd.

On the day of the race, it’s recommended that participants bring a lunch and wear a bathing suit under their clothing; there’s a chance that you may get wet and dirty.

The race takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maroa-Forsyth HS pond, which is located off 610 W. Washington St. Interested parties can find more information about the event here, including details regarding race rules.
