In its fifth year, “For the Love of It” will bring local talent together once again to put on a fun cabaret-style performance for residents in and around Decatur, Illinois! The singing, dancing and shenanigans will commence this Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at the Decatur Club, and the second and final performance will take place the following night on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The show’s unique fundraising format was thought up by Beth Creighton and Aaron Largent a few years back and quickly became popular with locals, who have turned up in greater numbers year after year since the event first started back in 2011. Unlike most cabaret shows, “For the Love of It” is a bit more free form. Audience members are given a “menu” of songs that they can request to hear, which keeps the show’s cast members on their toes.
For 2015, “For the Love of It” will once again benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, giving locals a chance to lend a helping hand by raising much-needed funds for cancer research, while having fun at the same time. Tickets for the show are only $35, which includes the cost of dinner, and there are after parties in the Mezzanine Lounge following each performance. Call the Decatur Club at (217) 429 - 4200 to reserve tickets now!
