If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, head over to Macon Speedway and enjoy competitions that will leave you hanging on the edge of your seat! Just a short trip south of Decatur, this legendary circuit is where locals go to experience high-action performance and exciting dirt racing.

Since 1946, central Illinois' "fastest 1/5-mile dirt track" has put many famous drivers to the test and today it challenges racers of all kinds. Following its usual winter hiatus, the track recently opened back up this past April, so head over soon to watch sprint cars, hornets, modifieds and street stocks battle head to head!

For over six decades, Macon Speedway has offered affordable entertainment to fans of racecar driving in Illinois. Currently, general admission ranges from only $10 to $30 and races take place every Saturday night from spring through fall. Gates are open at 5 p.m. and races begin at 7 p.m. Concessions are available.

FUN FACT
When it was built back in 1946, the speedway replaced a brick factory. Today, it is often called "The Other Brickyard" because of the bricks that occasionally rise up to the surface of the dirt track.
